“Doherty” is a 2017 short film directed by Luke Malone.
“Dillon Doherty is torn between preserving his devotion to his family and following in his father's footsteps as a hitman in the newly established IRA”
Brief: “Okay, so I was hoping to get an image from you that will work as a new poster. I will be able to apply the text a credit box onto the poster afterwords. I am thinking I want to do something similar to the True Detective (double exposure) “style", mixed with something like this “There Will be Blood” poster. I was wanting to use the face/head of my main actor (Brian Andrus) and maybe another drawing of the Irish flag behind him all torn up. Let me know what you are thinking, I'm totally open to whatever, just figured I would throw out an idea that I think works really well with your style.“
Execution: I used the double exposure idea to incorporate the Irish flag, as well as the splatter technique to evoke the gritty crime thriller atmosphere of the film.
